Welcome to College of Horticulture

The College of Horticulture, Hiriyur was established on 27.5.2010 under the UAHS, Bagalkot. Later (1 April 2012) it came to the Administrative control of University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga. Hiriyur is a small town located in the Chitradurga District, around 40 km from the Chitradurga.

Dean’s Message

  • Teaching

    To make Horticulture education responsive to the growing and changing needs of the society in general and aspirations of the farming community in particular.

  • Research

    To develop suitable end-use technologies to solve farmers’ problems vis-à-vis agricultural production and foster research aimed at conceptual advances in all disciplines for technology development in the long run.

  • Extension

    To reach the knowledge and technology to farmers on a wider scale by training the grass root level workers and officers of the state departments of agriculture, horticulture and sericulture
